ABOUT
RIKA Group was built on family, food, and a deep respect for hospitality. Sharon Hoota grew up surrounded by home cooked Moroccan cuisine, where food was the center of every gathering and welcoming guests was a way of life. Those early experiences shaped his approach to restaurants today and inspired him to name the group after his grandmother, Rika, whose kitchen and generosity continue to influence everything the group does.
After developing his experience in the fine catering industry, Sharon opened his first restaurant in 2008, Hummus Kitchen in Hell’s Kitchen. The vision was simple: bring the best hummus to New York City, served with warmth, comfort, and family recipes that feel like home. Hummus Kitchen is a kosher restaurant, welcoming guests with authentic flavors in a relaxed, family-style setting.
Maor Onono joined as a partner shortly afterwards. Together, they went on to open another two Hummus Kitchen locations in Manhattan. In 2012, the group expanded with ZIZI LIMONA in Williamsburg, introducing Tel Aviv inspired, modern Mediterranean cuisine to New York.
In 2019, Zizi relocated to Chelsea. In 2023, the group continued to grow with Noa Ten, opening two sister restaurants: Zizi Wine Bar. The wine bar offers a unique collection of wines from Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Turkey, and across the Mediterranean, paired with a curated menu of small dishes.
Beyond its restaurants, RIKA Group also offers full-service catering and drop-off catering for all types of events, bringing the same quality, hospitality, and Mediterranean flavors to private gatherings, celebrations, and corporate occasions.
Today, the RIKA Group brings together concepts rooted in culture, family, and genuine hospitality, sharing Mediterranean flavors and a welcoming spirit with New York City.
